Saint Petersburg-Pulkovo International Airport, Russia

SAINT PETERSBURG-PULKOVO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, RUSSIA
Saint Petersburg-Pulkovo International Airport is the fourth largest airport in Russia by passenger numbers and one of the most important in the Baltic Region. Located about 20 km from Saint Petersburg in the northwestern federal district of Russia, it was completed in 2015.
The project involved the expansion of the international terminal to increase the airport's capacity to 14,000,000 passengers per year.
The new terminal (Pulkovo 3) features an internal zoning arrangement that recalls the layout of the islands and bridges that dot Saint Petersburg. The roof and outer shell were designed to withstand the sometimes extreme climatic conditions of the city.
Executed using the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) formula and completed in 40 months, the project included the construction of the main building with check-in desks, boarding bridges, connections to parking areas and existing terminals, facilities, a management center, and a hotel. It also included the renovation of the Pulkovo 1 terminal (34,314 m²) and the construction of an innovative Energy Center (10 MW capacity).
