Milan Bergamo Airport, Italy

MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT, ITALY
Also known as Bergamo-Orio al Serio Airport, it is one of the main gateways for travelers heading to Milan and other destinations in Lombardy. Located near Bergamo, it plays a crucial role in national and international air transport, handling significant traffic of passengers and goods.
Recently, the airport completed an ambitious two-phase expansion program. The first phase focused on upgrading existing infrastructure, including extending the runway and expanding the aircraft aprons. This intervention improved the capacity and operational efficiency of the airport, allowing for smoother management of air traffic.
In parallel, essential works were carried out such as the construction of a new connecting runway, the installation of a network of advanced technological services and the improvement of hydraulic infrastructure. Safety has been enhanced with the implementation of modern runway signage, essential to ensure safe and efficient airport operations in all lighting conditions.
The second phase of the project involved the renovation of the Passenger Terminal, with a significant expansion of the western part of the existing building. This important work has made it possible to improve the comforts and services offered to travellers, with greater reception capacity and new areas dedicated to commercial and restaurant services.
Importantly, all works were carried out carefully to minimize the impact on ongoing airport operations, ensuring passengers continued to enjoy an efficient and uninterrupted service. Thanks to these improvements, Milan Bergamo Airport is now better equipped to meet the growing needs of travelers and airlines, contributing to the dynamism and competitiveness of air transport in the region.
