"John Paul II" International Airport in Krakòw-Balice, Poland

"JOHN PAUL II" INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN KRAKÓW-BALICE, POLAND
The "John Paul II" International Airport, located 11 km from Kraków, is the second largest in Poland after Warsaw's airport.
For this facility, the international passenger terminal was reconstructed and expanded, covering a total area of 26,000 m² with a volume of 424,000 m³. The works were carried out with the goal of enabling the airport to accommodate up to 8,000,000 passengers per year, with a capacity of 1,800 departing passengers per hour and 1,800 arriving passengers per hour at an IATA service level C.
The complexity of the project was heightened by the need to ensure the continuous operation of the existing terminal, which was also upgraded architecturally and functionally to align with the new building.
Other works completed for the new terminal included external systems and connections to the multi-level parking garage, the railway station, and the internal transport system.
