CAREGGI UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, BLOCK F, ITALY
The Careggi University Hospital in Florence is a key reference point for the Tuscany regional health service. This hospital complex has been expanded with the addition of the new Block F, a structure of nearly 10,000 square meters that offers over 150 new beds, distributed among ordinary, intensive, and sub-intensive care units.
Block F is developed on a six-level building, with five floors dedicated to patient care.
This expansion completes Pavilion 12 DEAS, which is already dedicated to the clinical and surgical emergency services of the Trauma Center.
The new Block F further enhances the hospital by introducing new departments dedicated to ordinary inpatient care, surgical activities, and trauma treatment. The construction work was planned with the goal of ensuring maximum safety, functionality, and comfort for both patients and healthcare workers. The structures and systems of Block F are designed to meet the most advanced anti-COVID standards, ensuring safe and healthy environments. The ordinary care units were conceived as sub-intensive care departments, with medical gas supply systems designed to offer high flexibility and ventilation capacity, adapting to all care pathways. Additionally, data lines have been upgraded in terms of transmission capacity and data outlets to allow for the activation of remote patient monitoring, a crucial element in a modern healthcare context.
The expansion of Careggi through Block F not only increases the hospital's capacity but also raises the level of healthcare services, demonstrating a constant commitment to innovation and excellence in the health sector.
