HS/HC Verona-Padua Railway Line

HS/HC VERONA-PADUA RAILWAY LINE, ITALY
The new Verona-Padua high-speed and capacity railway project is a tangible demonstration of the commitment to a more sustainable and connected future. With a total length of 76.5 km, this infrastructure links the areas of the provinces of Verona, Vicenza and Padua, with the aim of reducing travel time by 50% and increasing transport capacity.
The new Line will cross 21 municipalities (8 in the province of Verona, 9 in the province of Vicenza and 4 in the province of Padua), quadrupling the existing one, improving the quality of the rail service, integrating with the European network, and reducing the environmental impact and road traffic accidents. Thanks to its route, it is estimated that nearly 300,000 tons less CO2 will be emitted.
From the point of view of social sustainability, the investment for the Verona-Padua making it a key rail link in the north-east of the country and a major driver of economic and employment revitalisation, creating around 4,000 direct and indirect jobs. The work isn't only a symbol of responsible progress and of links between territories and cultures, but also a major engineering achievement. It's part of the Turin-Milan-Venice High-Speed Line, part of the Mediterranean Corridor linking Spain to Ukraine and part of the Strategic Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T Core Network). It's an investment in a sustainable, interconnected and culturally cohesive future.
The project is divided in three different lots. 1st functional lot: Verona – Bivio Vicenza (km 44.2); 2nd functional lot: Vincenza Crossing (km 6.2); 3rd functional lot: Vicenza – Padova (km 26.1).
