TURIN LINE JUNCTION, ITALY
The Turin - Milan route is practically an extension of the offices of the two cities. Highly trafficked and strategic for the growth of the northern part of the country, it has been significantly enhanced by the quadrupling and burying of the existing railway line.
Two parallel artificial tunnels were built, one for the historic line (slow line) and one for the high-speed line.
The project included the design and execution of works for the enhancement and doubling of a 1 km section of Turin's underground railway line. All this was accomplished without interfering with the urban context and the operational line.
