Trans-Gabon Railway, Gabon

TRANS-GABON RAILWAY, GABON
A railway useful for both passenger transport and mineral resources. This dual value characterizes the Trans-Gabon Railway, a project that has transformed Gabon's economy, forming the backbone of the country and allowing the doubling of manganese and iron mining operations, which are abundant in that area.
The railway is approximately 782 km long, with 19 stations spaced an average of 40 km apart. It is a single-track railway with standard gauge for heavy mineral trains and passenger service. The project also included the construction of 29 iron and reinforced concrete railway bridges with a total development of 4,000 meters, the supply and laying of ballast, drainage, and complementary infrastructure: stations, depots, service roads, etc.
