HIGH-SPEED RAIL LINE ROME-NAPLES, ITALY
It was the first high-speed railway in Europe and is still one of the most modern. It crosses at 300 km/h through an area rich in history, a characteristic that required a careful and detailed preliminary study of the archaeological finds discovered along the route.
The Rome-Naples high-speed railway is the synthesis of ancient history and state-of-the-art control systems for that period in Europe. In fact, the ERMTS/ETCS Level 2 was used, which transmits information to the drivers about the maximum allowed speeds and the distances to be maintained from the preceding trains.
The Rome-Naples route is 202 km long, with 17 km of tunnels and 19 km of viaducts.
