Fortezza-Ponte Gardenia HC Railway Line, Italy-Austria

FORTEZZA-PONTE GARDENA HC RAILWAY LINE, ITALY - AUSTRIA
Italy will soon be preparing for a new world record: the connection between Fortezza and Ponte Gardena in the Brenner Pass and the Austrian city of Innsbruck. With a total length of 64 km, this infrastructure will be a model of sustainable mobility, connecting Verona to Munich.
Webuild has been awarded the design and construction of a new high-capacity line section, approximately 22.5 km in length, continuing from the Brenner Base Tunnel, between Fortezza and Ponte Gardena. The project includes the quadrupling of the Verona-Fortezza line to enhance southern access to the Brenner Base Tunnel on the Munich-Verona railway axis, along with improvements at the Ponte Gardena station.
This project represents a significant step towards the sustainable mobility that Italy is promoting with increasing determination. Once completed, the infrastructure will significantly reduce travel times for passengers and goods, while also bringing tangible benefits to the local community. Its construction will generate 15,000 jobs, both direct and indirect, thus contributing to the sector's entire production chain.
