MELBOURNE METRO, AUSTRALIA
Known as the Melbourne City Loop is an emblematic metro project which has significantly improved the capacity of the transportation system urban Melbourne, facilitating the flow of passengers between the Central Business District (CBD) and i suburbs . This project helped reduce congestion at the two main roads stations railways from the city , encouraging the commuters to leave the car home and use the train to go to work in the vibrant city of Melbourne.
Officially named Melbourne Underground Rail Loop (MURL) was the flagship project of the infrastructure vision Victorian Premier Henry Bolte's government infrastructure plan, submitted in the "Melbourne Transport Plan 1969", a detailed development planning road and rail from the city .
The MURL consists of a ring system underground with three new stations underground and a two- track viaduct That connects the two stations elevated existing – Flinders and Spencer – forming a ring around the CBD. The trains from come on suburbs they enter into the ring and then exit one of the four tunnels that they surround the CBD on the east and north sides . The viaduct connects Flinders and Spencer on the south and west sides of the ring . The challenge was to dig two track tunnels single above the two more tunnels in a densely packed area populated , causing the least disturbance possible for activities roads . Each tunnel is dedicated to a certain number of lines railways and is independent give it other tunnels.
