Lima Metro, Line 2

LIMA METRO - LINE 2, PERÙ
The Lima Metro is an innovative and strategic engineering project for the capital and the country as a whole, designed to promote sustainable urban transport with a capacity of 1 million passengers per day. The concession for Line 2, awarded to Webuild, is an ambitious project that aims to complement the existing elevated line and provide more connections within the territory: it will connect up to 10 neighbourhoods, and above all it will significantly reduce the travel time between Ate and Callao, from 2 hours and 45 minutes to just three-quarters of an hour.
Line 2 of the Lima metro has been designed to be completely underground, thus ensuring greater respect for the urban landscape: 35 km of underground line, divided into Line 2 (27 km) and part of Line 4 (8 km), with the construction of 35 stations, including two interchange stations and two depot areas.
Environmental sustainability is at the heart of the project and the indicators monitoring the environmental impact of the infrastructure clearly show this: 544,300 tonnes of CO2 avoided per year and 511,500 fewer cars per day.
