The Jonica State Road – Mega Lot 3 project represents a significant road infrastructure in Italy, aimed at significantly improving the road network in the Calabria region. The construction of Mega Lot 3, which extends for approximately 38 kilometers, develops in the province of Cosenza at the intersection with the current State Road 106 and State Road no. 534, reaching Roseto Capo Spulico, through the towns of the Alto Jonio Cosentino like Cassano allo Ionio, Francavilla Marittima, Cerchiara di Calabria, Villapiana, Trebisacce, Albidona, Amendolara and Roseto Capo Spulico, all in the province of Cosenza.

Megalotto 3 represents one of the key elements in the project to transform the Ionian Corridor into a major road infrastructure capable of connecting the Ionian coastlines of Calabria, Basilicata, and Puglia, and completing the loop between the A14 'Adriatica' and A2 'Autostrada del Mediterraneo' highways, linking the three coastal areas of the Ionian, Tyrrhenian, and Adriatic Seas.

Enhancing the connection between different areas of Calabria, Mega Lot 3 facilitates access to the tourist resorts of the Ionian coast. The new road aims to reduce travel times, increase road safety, and support the economic development of the region.

Mega Lot 3 includes 14 artificial tunnels, 15 viaducts, piles up to 40 meters high, designed to overcome the topographical challenges of the region. This modern infrastructure has been equipped with advanced technologies for traffic monitoring and management, helping to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents.

In terms of utility, the new road offers numerous advantages. For local residents, it means greater accessibility to services and job opportunities, while for tourists, it facilitates the exploration of Calabria's natural and cultural beauties. Additionally, for the commercial transport sector, Mega Lot 33 represents a faster and more efficient transit route, which can help reduce transportation costs and improve the competitiveness of local businesses.
