Hydroelctric Power Plants of Uvini and Santu Miali, Italy

HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANTS OF UVINI AND SANTU MIALI, ITALY
The Uvini and Santu Miali hydroelectric power plants are located in Sardinia, specifically in the municipalities of Siurgus Donigala and Furtei. They became operational in 1964 as part of the "regional water conveyance system" and were included in the "Hydraulic Scheme No. 7 Flumendosa -Campidano - Cixerri". These plants were designed to manage the transfer of water resources from three artificial reservoirs (Flumineddu, Flumendosa, and Mulargia lakes), interconnected by hydraulic tunnels, for potable water supply, irrigation, and industrial use in Southern Sardinia.
Maintenance activities have been carried out on these plants with the aim of upgrading the electrical and electromechanical installations to the latest technological and regulatory standards, along with implementing hydrocivil interventions to ensure adequate operational reliability and service delivery.
