ANCIPA DAM, ITALY
Constructed between 1949 and 1952, the structure is located in the upper valley of the Troina stream in Sicily, within the province of Enna. At the time of its construction, it was part of the hydroelectric and irrigation development program for the Salso-Simeto region.
The Ancipa Dam is a concrete gravity dam of the hollow type and consists of nine hollow elements with an isosceles triangle profile, each 22 meters wide.
The dam is equipped with surface, mid-level, and bottom outlets, with a total discharge capacity of 840 m³/sec.
