EAST GHOR MAIN CANAL, GIORDANIA
A canal approximately 70 km long, fed by waters derived from the Yarmouk River between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea.
The project, carried out on behalf of the Jordanian Government and designed by the Jordan Development Board, aims to irrigate 30,000 hectares of land in the valley east of the Jordan River.
The canal has a capacity of 10 m³/sec and includes a concrete-lined diversion tunnel that is 980 meters long with a horseshoe-shaped cross-section of 7 m².
The canal has a trapezoidal cross-section (10 m²) and is lined with concrete.
