The Carosello and then ... straight to bed!
In 1966, one in three Italian municipalities still did not have a municipal water supply and sewage system. Only the following year, in fact, did 23 out of 100 households own a washing machine. Today, it is impossible to imagine a private home without a washing machine. At the beginning of the 60's, it was still a mirage. It became of common use when TVs also began to enter Italian people's homes.
The perfect combo: all of Italy united to watch the Carosello before going to bed, and maybe someone even dreamt of buying a washing machine after.
