NORTH EAST LINK PROJECT, AUSTRALIA
The North East Link is the largest private-public partnership (PPP) for an infrastructure project in Australia and it will be the longest highway tunnel in the State of Victoria.
The project fills the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network, between the M80 and the Eastern Freeway, and will carry up to 135,000 vehicles daily. As an essential connection for the city’s road network, the North East Link will reduce traffic congestion and travel times for tens of thousands of motorists: 15,000 fewer trucks on local roads each day, and up to 35 minutes less travel time between Melbourne's north and southeast.
Webuild, as part of the Spark joint venture, is involved in the design and construction of approximately 6.5 km of twin three-lane tunnels and associated works beneath the northeastern suburbs of the city.
Webuild is also participating in the 32-year concession as an equity provider (with a 7.5% share).
