Genoa from above!
To fully understand how dense Genoa is, it must be seen from above. For this purpose, to be able to see it like this, there is a truly magical place: Spianata Castelletto, a suspended terrace that looks onto the city from above, providing a 360 degree perspective. A beautiful Liberty style lift from Piazza Portello takes you up there if you want, or you can just reach it by walking along the renowned "crêeuze" roads, the small typical Genoese pedestrian roadways.
Spianata Castelletto is both touching and enchanting. Poet Giorgio Caproni wrote a poem on it:
When I will finally decide
to go to up to Paradise,
I will take the lift
at Castelletto
