Zaha Hadid: a trip to Italy

Zaha Hadid is considered among the best architects in recent years. Some of her creations are unforgettable: from Vitra Fire Station in Germany, to the Opera House in China, from Glasgow's Museum to Vienna's library, from Abu Dhabi's bridge to Beijing's skyscraper, and so many more.  Zaha Hadid built various works where the Napoli Afragola station is. Let's see them. 

MAXXI
The Museo delle Arti del XXI Secolo is the only Italian contemporary art museum. The Zaha Hadid project won 273 candidatures. It perfectly integrates with the urban context. Its curved lines make it look like a peculiar museum. The square where the MAXXI is located has become a reference point for the entire neighbourhood.

Messner Mountain Museum
Alpinist Reinhold Messner created it, and split it in 6 different locations. It is dedicated to the mountains, to glaciers and to rock climbing. It is in Plan de Corones that we can find a space designed by Zaha Hadid: over 1000 sq m dedicated to the history of alpinism. 

Torre Generali
Also known as Torre Hadid to honour the name of its designer, it stands as the second tallest skyscraper of City Life (177 metres), a project that upgrades Milan's trade fair area. 44 floors inaugurated in 2019 that are Milan's Generali Group headquarters. An architectural and energy-saving masterpiece.
