The happiest in the world (risking extinction)
In Perth, there are not only infrastructural and technological marvels, but there's also the quokka: as large as a big domestic cat, this rare marsupial of the Macropodidae family is herbivorous and generally a night animal. It’s one of the most sweet and soft animals in the world (you will not find it on the train as it prefers to jump around). People say that it is the world's happiest animal, as it has an expression that looks as if it is always smiling. It would be easy to joke about it by saying: there's not a lot to laugh about. Because the quokka risks being extinct. The International Union for Conservation of Nature, every year, draws-up the Red List of animals that are risking extinction, and we know from it that over 45,300 species are at risk.
