Paris Underground - extensin of Line 14 south, France

PARIS UNDERGROUND - EXTENSION OF LINE 14 SOUTH, FRANCE
Paris, the city of love and fashion. So beautiful that it attracts millions of tourists every year. But would it be as attractive and beautiful if it were constantly congested with traffic, high levels of smog and pollution of all kinds?
The extension of Line 14 of the Paris Metro is an ambitious project that aims not only to promote environmental sustainability but also to improve urban mobility. Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art technology, it is expected to reduce Co2 emissions by 29,000 tonnes per year compared to current levels and, with a capacity of 300,000 people per day, take 231,000 cars off the road every day.
Webuild, in a joint venture with Nouvelles Générations d'Entrepreneurs (NGE), has successfully constructed one of the four sections of the 14km-long extension of Line 14 South. This extension connects to Orly Airport. Within Lot GC04, Webuild and NGE are responsible for the excavation of a 4.1kilometre tunnel from Pont de Rungis station to a new purpose-built station at the airport, which significantly reduces travel times between the airport area and the city centre and provides a direct link to both the 18 metros line and the new 15 metro line.
This contract marks the Webuild Group's return to France 20 years after the completion of the East-Ouest Liaison Express (EOLE) section of the metro and its entry into the Grand Paris Express, an ambitious project that will revolutionise the transport system of Paris and its vast suburbs by 2030.
