Parigi Metro - Eole line

PARIS METRO - EOLE LINE, FRANCE
Gare du Nord and Gare Saint Lazaire in Paris. This line represents a major east-west rail axis crossing the city underground, making a significant contribution to the development of public transport infrastructure in the city centre.
The 1,900 metres long project includes a temporary access shaft with a diameter of 11 metres and a depth of 30 metres, as well as a permanent access shaft with a diameter of 108 metres and a depth of 30 metres. The section also includes ten tunnels, each 200 metres long, excavated using the traditional method, as well as two parallel tunnels linked by three connecting galleries.
The construction of the two main tunnels was carried out using a 'Hydroshield' tunnel boring machine operating with mud and bentonite pressure, which was an important technological tool during the excavation phase.
This new section has made transport more efficient, reducing journey times and encouraging the use of public transport.
