ATHENS METRO, EXTENSION OF LINE 3, MONASTIRAKI -EGALEO SECTION, GREECE
A new section of the metro to improve public transportation in Athens. This is how the extension of line 3 of the metro in the Greek capital, between Monastiraki and Egaleo, can be defined.
The section is 4,326 meters long, and the tunnel was mostly excavated using the NATM (New Austrian Tunnelling Method), with a short section using the "cut and cover" system (artificial tunnel).
The complementary works included in the project involve the construction of 3 stations, 6 circular service shafts, and the restoration of various urban utility networks.
