Ruta del Sol Highway, Third Section, Colombia

A new roadway, to create fast connections with the ports of the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea. This is the core of the third section of the Ruta del Sol highway project, between the cities of San Roque and Ye de Cienaga and between the cities of Carmen de Bolivar and Valledupar, in Colombia.

Webuild Group, in joint venture, has been entrusted with the design and construction of a new dual-lane motorway section in both directions, a new emergency lane, and the modernization of the remaining 476 km of existing road.

The project, promoted by ANI (Agencia Nacional de Infraestructuras), formerly INCO (Instituto Nacional de Concesiones) of the Ministry of Transport, represents one of the most important road infrastructure projects in Colombia.

Other features of the work include particular attention to safety and minimizing environmental impact, as the project is located in an ecosystem rich in both fauna and flora. Therefore, the joint venture responsible for the construction has been engaging in productive dialogue with both the community and local institutions.
