KIEV-CHOP - CAPITAL REPAIR OF M06 LOT 1 – LOT 2, UKRAINE
The renovation project of the M06 highway, linking Kiev to Chop, represents one of the most significant infrastructure interventions in Ukraine aimed at improving the quality and safety of one of the country's main transport arteries. Stretching approximately 821 kilometers, the M06 highway is crucial for connecting the Ukrainian capital to western regions, extending up to the border with Hungary.
The renovation project is divided into several lots, including Lot 1 and Lot 2, focusing on the most deteriorated sections of the highway. Lot 1 covers the stretch from kilometer 129 to kilometer 151, while Lot 2 extends from kilometer 151 to kilometer 193. These sections are vital for commercial and passenger traffic, as they traverse densely populated regions and industrial areas.
The renovation works involve complete reconstruction of the roadway, widening of the road to enhance traffic capacity, and installation of new safety barriers to increase road safety. Additionally, new infrastructure will be constructed for drainage and rainwater management, crucial for preventing flooding and road damage. The project also includes construction of new bridges and renovation of existing ones, ensuring traffic continuity even over watercourses and valleys.
A key element of the project is the adoption of modern technologies for road paving, ensuring greater durability and reduced maintenance costs in the long term. Special attention is also given to implementing advanced lighting and signage systems to improve visibility and safety during night time hours.
