I-95 Brevard County

I-95 BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, USA
Two new lanes, aimed at decongesting traffic for about 50 kilometers. That's what Lane Construction (Webuild Group) accomplished through the I-95 Brevard County project in Florida. The works focused on expanding a 30-mile (approximately 48.3 km) stretch of I-95 in Florida from four to six lanes. The scope of work included paving the new roadway section, refurbishing the existing pavement, and constructing acceleration lanes.
Other interventions involved improving the drainage system, expanding and refurbishing bridges, constructing sound barriers, and making modifications to the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), median barriers, road signage, and stormwater drainage systems. At Lane's suggestion, the I-95 bridge over SR 442 was widened instead of being rebuilt by lowering the roadway, thus reducing costs and minimizing transportation impacts. The existing guardrail was reused, minimizing the amount of materials needed for retaining walls.
