A bridge over the highway to improve nighttime lighting and reduce frequent traffic jams. This is what is happening along I-264, near Virginia Beach. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has entrusted the work to Lane Construction (Webuild Group), which has undertaken a project to improve traffic flow on this crucial artery.

The project entailed the construction of a new road that reconfigures the Newtown Road and Witchduck Road interchanges, as well as the addition of a new bridge over I-264, linking Greenwich Road to Cleveland Street. The structure includes advanced aesthetic lighting.

To minimise disruptions for the approximately 55,000 travellers who use this Interstate daily, the project has been divided into 22 distinct construction phases to avoid closures and ensure continuity of service.
