VILLAROSA DAM, ITALY
Located in Sicily, in the province of Enna, it is an earth dam that blocks the Morello River, between the municipalities of Villarosa and Enna.
Constructed between 1968 and 1974, it was originally designed as support for the mining activity in the area. A large quantity of water was indeed necessary for the flotation process of the mineral extracted in the nearby Pasquasia mine.
The dam has a maximum height of 68 meters and a crown length of 680 m.
