ZÁRATE BRAZO LARGO BRIDGES, ARGENTINA
The Zárate Brazo Largo Bridges they are two bridges cable-stayed road and rail , almost identical , which cross two branches of the Paraná river delta , the Paraná Guazú and the Paraná de las Palmas, distant about 30 kilometers between them , between the cities of Zárate, province of Buenos Aires, and Brazo Largo, province of Entre Ríos in Argentina.
The bridge on the Paraná de las Palmas river was named after General Bartolomé Mitre, while that on the Paraná Guazú to General Justo José de Urquiza. Both the bridges they do part of the system General Urquiza railway .
Up project of the engineer Italian Fabrizio de Miranda, the bridges were the first cable-stayed large-scale road and rail projects built In the world.
The bridges they have a scaffolding suspended 550 meters (overall), with a central span of 330 metres. The pylons they are 110 meters high and the deck is 2.6 meters thick.
